TAG has established a Public Relations/Public Affairs practice within the agency. In making the announcement, TAG Chief Executive Officer, Mike Vondran says, “Focus on new, ‘break-through’ digital marketing tactics has ignited TAG’s success and client growth in recent years. But, it also has distracted many TAG clients from more traditional, ‘tried-and-true’ marketing activities. According to Vondran, this new TAG specialty practice is a response to growing client recognition of the value of broader, coordinated customer outreach beyond the ‘social-sphere.’ Services provided by the new practice include general interest media and trade press relations, government affairs and advocacy, guerilla marketing and special events. “These tactics influence and strengthen brand image when employed in conjunction with additional web-based and social media marketing,” Vondran adds.

TAG’s Public Relations/Public Affairs practice is led by TAG Senior Vice President, Ken Croken, who joined the firm earlier this year. Croken served as Chief Marketing Officer at Genesis Health System. He previously led the consumer technology practice at Edelman PR Worldwide in New York City and was the corporate communications “lead” for the global government industry marketing division of IBM Corporation in Washington, D.C.

Croken Joins TAG as Senior Vice President of Business Development

Ken Croken_v2Effective February 5, 2018, Ken Croken is the Senior Vice President of Business Development at TAG. He joins the agency after serving as the Chief Marketing Officer at Genesis Health System for 15 years.

TAG Announces Staff Promotions As It Enters 26 Years in Business

In his newly expanded role Don will drive all creative and digital services of the firm. “Don has been an outstanding leader as Executive Vice President, he has built a great team and is now ready to evolve the services and vision for TAG’s creative and digital teams. We look forward to great things with Don in the lead,” said Vondran.

Andy Erickson also comes to TAG Communications, Inc., from the Quad-City Times, where he developed online advertising and special projects. He is fluent in HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript coding. As the Lead Web Developer at TAG Communications, Inc., Andy will develop custom websites for clients.

Ashley Hansen comes to TAG Communications, Inc., from the Moline Dispatch-Argus, where she was the Web Project Coordinator. She specializes in email marketing, online contests and promotions. At TAG Communications, Inc., Ashley will develop digital marketing solutions for clients.

Jason Otten is a recent graduate of Western Illinois University, where he obtained a degree in marketing. As a Project Coordinator/Associate Account Manager for TAG Healthcare Marketing, Jason will use his detail-oriented focus to serve our clients in the healthcare field.

Dan Sharp is a recent graduate of St. Ambrose University, with a degree in marketing and management. Before coming to TAG Communications, Inc., he held internships at United Way of the Quad-Cities and KLJB Fox 18. As an account manager, Dan will ensure clients have access to the most effective solutions for their marketing needs.

Stephanie Snipes is a recent graduate of Western Illinois University, with a degree in marketing and management. Before joining TAG Communications, Inc., she held internships at the Quad City Chamber of Commerce and Trinity Regional Health System. TAG Healthcare Marketing receives Gold at Aster Awards

The Healthcare Marketing division of TAG Communications Inc., is the recipient of a national healthcare marketing award for campaign work designed for the Robert Young Center.

“It is just further evidence that we’re being recognized for the creative work and communication services we provide our clients,” said Randy Jacobs, president of TAG Healthcare Marketing. “It gives us a chance for our creative staff to gain some recognition outside of the market.

The “Get Back To Life” posters illustrated everyday people enabled to confidently return to their normal routines, thanks to the counseling and mental health services offered at the Robert Young Center. The campaign earned a Gold distinction in the Outdoor Transit – Single category.

“It just helps give the message that our focus is really stressing the importance of the connection between behavior health and primary health care,” said Dr. David Deopere, president of the Robert Young Center. “We’re trying to stress the importance of how behavior disorders can exacerbate physical disorders and physical illnesses such as heart disease can have a negative impact our emotional health. Our feeling is that will help fight the stigma of people who are hesitating to seek help for behavioral disorders.”

The Aster Awards Program is an elite competition judged by industry experts and hosted by Creative Images, Inc. Winners are published in the Marketing Healthcare Today magazine.
